Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, a respected not-for-profit community hospital serving southeastern Vermont and surrounding regions of New Hampshire and Massachusetts, invites experienced Oncology Physicians to join our dedicated team. Position Overview:

As an Oncology Physician at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, you will provide expert outpatient cancer care within a multidisciplinary team committed to excellence. Your expertise will guide patients through diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship, incorporating the latest advancements in oncology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to diagnose and stage various cancers utilizing imaging and laboratory tests.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments.
  • Monitor patient progress, modify treatment protocols based on response and side effects, and manage adverse reactions.
  • Provide supportive care to improve patient quality of life and manage treatment-related side effects.
  • Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, potential outcomes, and survivorship.
  • Offer emotional support and counseling, fostering a trusting patient-provider relationship.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, radiologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, multidisciplinary care.
  • Engage in clinical trials, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives to advance oncology practices.
  • Stay current with evolving clinical guidelines, research findings, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Mentor and guide healthcare staff and trainees in oncology best practices.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives aimed at improving care efficiency and patient outcomes.

Candidate Qualifications:
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology or Hematology/Oncology.
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution with an active medical license in Vermont.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centered, compassionate care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Candidates with the ability to work a flexible schedule (~24 hours/week).
  • No more than 1 hour commuting distance preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Reflective of experience and market standards, annual salary between $250,000 - $350,000.
