Description:

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, a not-for-profit community hospital serving southeastern Vermont and surrounding areas of New Hampshire and Massachusetts, is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff MD in Oncology. This part-time opportunity allows you to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and provide personalized, patient-centered cancer care in an outpatient clinic setting. You will have the chance to impact the lives of patients and families, participate in clinical trials, and stay at the forefront of oncology advancements while enjoying a supportive and professional work environment.

Job Description:
  • Diagnose and stage various cancers through thorough clinical assessments, imaging, and laboratory tests.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient, incorporating chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.
  • Monitor and manage patient progress, adjusting treatment protocols as necessary.
  • Manage treatment-related side effects and provide supportive care to enhance patient quality of life.
  • Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and potential outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families throughout the cancer journey.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, certified oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, and oncology navigators to ensure coordinated, multidisciplinary care.
  • Participate in clinical trials, research initiatives, and quality improvement projects to advance oncology care.
  • Stay current on clinical guidelines, treatment breakthroughs, and evidence-based practices in oncology.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other healthcare staff in oncology-related practices.
  • Contribute to patient care planning and department initiatives to improve overall outcomes and efficiency.
