Join Our Team as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) – Panama City, FL

Position Overview:
Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a dedicated full-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our esteemed neonatology team at HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital in beautiful Panama City, Florida. You will provide advanced neonatal care within a supportive, collaborative Level III NICU environment, offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a thriving community with exceptional quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based neonatal care within our 28-bed Level III NICU.
  • Participate in an in-house NNP model providing 24/7 in-house coverage to ensure continuity of care.
  • Manage an average daily NICU census of approximately 19 critically ill neonates.
  • Support approximately 2,700 deliveries annually by attending high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitations.
  • Perform routine neonatal rounding, assessments, and management of neonatal conditions.
  • Deliver acute care for critically ill neonates, including necessary procedures aligned with your clinical competencies.
  • Collaborate closely with neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Exercise autonomous clinical judgment and decision-making in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.
  • Work alongside a specialized neonatal transport team to stabilize and transfer patients as needed.
  • Engage with full pediatric and neonatal subspecialty support services to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to team-based practice and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in educational activities, including rotations for medical students through partnerships with the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, fostering professional growth.
  • Maintain a focus on patient safety, quality outcomes, and family-centered care.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Florida or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Certified as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) by a recognized certifying body.
  • Prior experience in a Level III NICU setting is preferred; recent graduates not considered.
  • Residency within the immediate local area is required; relocation may be necessary.
  • Must be committed to full-time, permanent employment with no plans for locum or visa sponsorship.
