Job Title: Director, Health Information Management (Days) – Perm
Location: Salina, KS

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as the Director of Health Information Management within the Salina Regional Health Center (SRHC) system. This full-time, onsite leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee all facets of the health information department, ensuring the accuracy, security, and integrity of patient records and health data. The ideal candidate will provide operational management, policy development, and strategic planning to support the delivery of high-quality, compliant health information services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) Department, including record processing, coding (acute and outpatient), transcription, and release of information.
  • Oversee the management of the trauma registry, storage systems, and the suspension process involving physicians.
  • Ensure the department’s compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies regarding medical records and patient data confidentiality.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor department policies, procedures, and workflows to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain and improve HIM systems and technology platforms for seamless operations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the HIM department and hospital administration, clinical staff, and external entities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and compliance within the team.
  • Represent the health information department in hospital committees and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate coding, transcription, and record retrieval to support clinical and administrative needs.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Administration, or related field; RHIA or RHIT certification preferred.
  • Extensive experience in health information management, with leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of medical coding, health information systems, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission standards).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop policies, manage teams, and implement system improvements.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of $42.00 to $65.00 per hour ($90,000 – $135,000 annually), commensurate with education and experience.
  • Relocation allowance of up to $5,000, with further details discussed during the interview process.
