JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision and/or direction of the Registered Nurse, Surgeon, and Anesthesia provider, the Perinatal Technician performs various direct and indirect patient care activities in accordance with the Nursing Department policies and procedures. The Perinatal Technician is able to assist with the care of any hospitalized patient and a variety of functions related to patient registration, guest relations, order entry, and supply management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons by scrubbing for cesarean section cases
  • Perform a variety of other duties related to preparing for the surgical patient and maintaining the OR environment
  • Assist with patient care activities in accordance with Nursing Department policies and procedures
  • Perform functions related to patient registration, guest relations, order entry, and supply management

 

EDUCATION

Requires graduation from high school or equivalent. Certificate of completion from an approved Nurse Assistant training course.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Current license to practice as a nursing assistant (LNA) in the State of Vermont
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

 

EXPERIENCE

One year of previous experience as a Licensed Nursing Assistant is required.
