    Core Hours: Monday- Friday- 8am-5pm (No Weekends, No Holidays)

    • Previous Oncology Experience a plus

    Primary Purpose

    Responsible for organizing and coordinating Performance Improvement and Patient Safety activities at a departmental level within Parkland.

    MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

    • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a health related field.

    Experience:

    • Must have five years of experience working with performance improvement issues.

    Equivalent Experience:

    • May have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Certification/Registration/Licensure:

    Laboratory Services Only:

    Must be certified by one of the following:

    • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
    • Medical Technologist (MT) - Department of Health Services (HHS) formerly (HEW)
    • Medical Technologist (MT) - American Medical Technologist (AMT)
    • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - national certification agency

    Nurses Only:

    • Must have current RN license or valid temporary license with the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.
    • Must have current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from one of the following:
    • American Heart Association
    • American Red Cross Rescuer
    • Military Training Network.

    Skills or Special Abilities:

    • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of data management and process improvement.
    • Must have knowledge of Joint Commission standards and their interpretation as related to areas of responsibility.
    • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skill to operate a computer to input and extract information using word processing, spread sheet and data base software.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
    • Must be able to employ effective problem solving and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to demonstrate patient-centered/patient-valued behaviors.
    • Nurses Only: Provides care to assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nursing Practice Act, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care, and clinical area specific standards.
