SUBJECT: Performance Assessment for Leaders (PAL) Coach for PAL Candidates

A PAL Coach is needed to support candidates working toward successfully completing their Performance Assessment for Leaders (PAL). Funding is available for a coach to support BPS employees currently working on PAL tasks in order to fulfill MA DESE principal/assistant principal licensure requirements. Support provided by this coach will take place during mutually agreed upon days and times, in-person and/or virtually, outside of the contractual day.

The work associated with this Job Ad will take place between September 2026 - June 2027. Throughout the year, the PAL coach will schedule/offer informational sessions and provide feedback/support to PAL candidates.

Duties and Responsibilities: Work with and support BPS employees currently working toward successful completion of the PAL. Review all PAL information and materials, including the current PAL Candidate Assessment Handbook. Provide resources and guidance to aspiring PAL candidates. Refer to and utilize the Massachusetts Performance Assessment for Leaders Administrative Field Guide for Leadership Preparation Programs with the PAL candidates. Ensure that task products are aligned with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) Professional Standards and Indicators for Administrative Leadership. Keep a log of hours for your work as a PAL Coach.

Qualifications: 1.Candidates must possess a Massachusetts Principal/Assistant Principal Administrator License 2.Candidates must be currently working as a building or district leader in Brockton Public Schools. 3.Experience completing PAL tasks and earned a passing score (preferred). 4.Candidates must have an in-depth knowledge of the PAL process. 5.Candidates must have at least 5 years' experience as an administrator. 6.Candidates must understand the scoring considerations of the PAL, as well as the state standards for licensure. 7.Experience working with BPS staff, formally or informally, to complete the PAL is preferred but not required. 8.Candidates must be able to incorporate and refer to the Massachusetts Performance Assessment for Leaders Administrative Field Guide for Leadership Preparation Programs.

Compensation: $1,000 Stipend
