The Job

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Per Diem - Occupational Therapist IIs who perform a wide variety of individual therapy programs for the occupational rehabilitation of patients. Duties include assessing, planning and implementing physical, socio- cultural and self-care programs; observing and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment, suggesting treatment changes and conferring with physicians and other staff regarding patients treatment and progress; teaching daily living skills such as muscle re-education, hygiene, nutrition, communication and problem solving with educational subjects directed at restoring and maintaining the patients highest level of functioning. These positions are in the Unclassified Service and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. Positions participate in the Countys PST Deferred Compensation Plan and do not earn any other benefits.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empires newest medical school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Per Diem: Per Diem positions are not Regular Positions within the County, and there should be no expectation of continued employment or guaranteed hours. Working in a Per Diem position does not preclude you from applying and competing for Regular positions within the County. (Refer to the San Bernardino County website for current open recruitments.)

Shift Availability: ARMC is a twenty-four hour facility; applicants may be required to work various shifts, therefore applications must indicate their shift availability in the Supplemental Questionnaire of the application. Rotating weekend and holiday coverage may be required.

Visa Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess all of the following:

License: Must possess and maintain a valid Occupational Therapy license issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs (California Board of Occupational Therapy).

Experience: One (1) year of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.

Certification: Must possess and maintain Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in an inpatient acute care and/or experience in an inpatient acute rehab facility is highly desired.
