Salary Range: $20.00 – $21.22 per hour

Position Overview

Kings View is seeking a Peer Support Specialist I – MCRT to join our Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) in Hanford/Avenal. This position supports individuals experiencing mental health crises through compassionate intervention, advocacy, and connection to services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide direct advocacy and support to individuals and families experiencing mental health crises
• Respond compassionately to crisis calls and community support requests
• Assist with intake assessments, safety planning, and service coordination
• Conduct 72-hour follow-up contacts after crisis intervention services
• Support stabilization efforts to reduce hospitalization and promote recovery
• Complete timely documentation in SmartCare and OnePoint
• Participate in outreach events and collaborate with community partners
• Attend required trainings and participate in rotational on-call responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one (1) year of experience working with the public
• Valid California Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
• Strong communication and crisis de-escalation skills
• Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment during crisis situations
• Basic computer proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• College coursework or degree preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Experience in behavioral health or crisis response preferred
