This position is for a Peer Specialist supporting a Peer Support Line, dedicated to empowering individuals through trauma-informed, peer-based support.
- Provide telephone support during scheduled evening and weekend shifts, including answering calls, maintaining follow-up, and offering empathetic listening.
- Create a safe space for individuals to share and explore recovery strategies, fostering community and support.
- Participate in outreach and team meetings to enhance the program’s reach and effectiveness.
Qualifications include:
- Experience with recovery and progress toward or maintenance of NY Certified Peer Specialist-Provisional certification.
- Understanding of trauma-informed principles, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid NYS Driver's License and basic computer skills.
