Diagnoses and treats a variety of diseases and injuries in pediatric practice by performing the following duties:

  • A Pediatrician in an affiliated medical practice provides medical services to patients in an assigned area.
  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Coordinates discharge planning with the Case Manager for admitted patients.
  • Recommends participating in and actively working to ensure the success of efforts to improve the cost-effectiveness of care provided to patients throughout the organization. Accepts patient referrals from other physicians.
  • Acts as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on the needs of patients, medical staff, and hospital.
  • Participates in academic programs, including medical education, resident, student, mid-level supervision, and research, as requested.

This position may be filled by a Physician or a Nurse Practitioner (NP).

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Education:

  • Physician MD/DO

  • MSN or PA Program

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Current licensure as a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant in the state of Maryland on the date of hire
  • Board Certification in the specialty is required within one (1) year of hire
  • Active CDS, DEA, and CPR

Experience:

  • Completion of medical school and pediatric residency program for physician
  • At least two years of experience as a pediatric primary care provider for NP or PA.
