Childrens Minnesota is seeking a Clinical Geneticist to join its growing Genetics/Genomics Department, offering the opportunity to practice within a highly specialized, pediatric-focused program and contribute to the expansion of personalized and precision care.

About the Department
Childrens Minnesotas Genetics/Genomics Department is exclusively dedicated to pediatric genetics care. The team includes four geneticists, fourteen genetic counselors, three genetic counseling assistants, a clinic nurse, a metabolic dietitian, and two pharmacogenomics pharmacists. Genetics services are fully integrated into hematology/oncology, cardiology, neonatology, immunology, neurology, and pulmonology, with continued growth in pediatric and adolescent precision medicine through a nationally recognized pharmacogenomics program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient clinical care and inpatient consultations at the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized care to pediatric and adolescent patients
  • Optional participation in clinical research and program evaluation
  • Optional teaching of medical students, residents, and genetic counseling students
  • Research opportunities include rapid genome sequencing, genomic newborn sequencing, and metabolomics

Qualifications

  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Clinical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics
  • Additional experience in medical or clinical biochemical genetics preferred
  • Comfortable caring for patients with inborn errors of metabolism and general genetic conditions
  • Eligible for Minnesota medical licensure and hospital credentialing
