Job Summary

We are seeking a c to support industrial process plant operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical controls, instrumentation, PLC/SCADA systems, commissioning, troubleshooting, and process improvement. This role involves supporting equipment installation, system upgrades, startup activities, and ensuring safe and reliable plant operations.

Title: PCIS Engineer
Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite controls and instrumentation engineering support in an industrial process plant.
  • Troubleshoot electrical power and control systems and resolve equipment issues.
  • Implement approved equipment modifications, upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Support system ownership for assigned equipment and drive reliability improvements.
  • Participate in equipment installation, startup, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
  • Develop engineering design packages for power distribution and instrumentation systems.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, including instrument datasheets, I/O lists, instrument lists, and wiring diagrams.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and construction personnel to complete engineering activities.
  • Participate in design reviews and support project execution.
  • Provide installation, commissioning, and startup support for process and production equipment.
  • Support procurement of electrical and instrumentation components.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and industrial regulations.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience as a Controls, Instrumentation, or PCIS Engineer in an industrial manufacturing or process plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation selection, calibration, and control system design.
  • Experience with PLC, SCADA, industrial communication networks, and automation systems.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage electrical distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and electrical schematics.
  • Experience preparing engineering documentation, including wiring diagrams and instrument documentation.
  • Familiarity with machine safety concepts, including CAT 3 safety wiring and UL508A control panel design.
  • Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
  • Experience with commissioning, validation, and startup activities is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project coordination skills.
