PCB Designer

Position: PCB Designer

Location: Amityville, NY

The Company: NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc., headquartered in Amityville, Long Island NY, is a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of electronic security systems for over 50 years has a full time opening for a PCB Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. 

Responsibilities/Requirements:

• 0 - 2+ years of PCB layout or related experience.
• Solid understanding of basic electronics principles.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting component datasheets, application notes, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following design areas:
• High-speed / high-density digital
• High-power / high-current analog
• RF / microwave hardware design and layout practices
• Proficiency with PCB schematic capture, symbol creation, and design library management.
• Proficiency with PCB schematic capture and design library management.
• Knowledge of mixed SMT and through-hole technologies.
• Ability to manage schematic and PCB revisions, including creation of ECNs and process documentation.
• Ability to research, select, and qualify components and alternate parts.
• Knowledge of IPC standards a plus.
• Familiarity with PCB manufacturing and assembly processes, including support of fabrication and production-related questions.
• Capable of supporting our in-house contract manufacturer production questions.
• Knowledge of PCB panelization processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of PADS PCB tools is highly preferred.
