PC-12 First Officer – Legacy Crew

As a Legacy crew member, the PC-12 First Officer supports the Captain in the operation of Planet 9's West Coast based PC-12 aircraft. This full-time role is essential to executing regional charter flights with precision, safety, and professionalism. Operating under both Part 91 and Part 135, the First Officer contributes to a highly collaborative flight deck environment, maintains operational compliance, and delivers a refined onboard experience for Planet 9 clients. The standard PC-12 Legacy Pilot schedule will be 8 days on (position days included on first and last day), followed by 4 days off.

Reports to: Chief Pilot

Location: Van Nuys, CA based and must live within a 2 hour drive of KVNY.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Second-in-Command (SIC) on assigned PC-12 aircraft
  • Support the designated PIC in executing safe, compliance, and efficient flight operations while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by actively participating in CRM, communication, and workload sharing throughout all phases of flight
  • Contribute to accurate preflight planning, including fuel, weight and balance, performance, and international considerations.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity by adhering to Planet 9's SOPs, FAA regulations, and all company policies.
  • Support excellence in service delivery by assisting in pre- and post-flight duties, passenger interactions, and ensuring the aircraft is prepared to Planet 9 standards.
  • Participate in Planet Nine's Professional Development Program (PDP). Willing to accept guidance, mentorship, and training on a continuous basis from the Captain they are flying with.
  • Remain current in all training and regulatory requirements showing commitment to personal and organizational growth.
  • Uphold Planet 9's culture of safety through risk mitigation, checklist discipline, and procedural compliance.
  • Adhere to Planet Nine's operational policies, safety procedures, and regulatory standards by completing required training and maintaining compliance across all assigned duties.
  • Adapt to evolving priorities by performing additional tasks or projects as needed to support team and organizational goals.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • FAA Single Engine Commercial License
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate
  • PC-12 Experience preferred, not required
  • Valid passport and ability to travel unrestricted internationally
  • Must pass DOT/FAA drug screening, TSA background check, and grant Planet Nine access to the FAA PRD system.

    • Total Flight Time: 1,000
    • PIC: 200
    • Turbine: 100 (preferred)
    • Instrument: 50

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • College degree preferred
  • Part 135 experience preferred
  • Completion and maintenance of all Planet 9 training requirements in accordance with FAA Part 135 regulations

Physical Requirements (if applicable): Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to maintain a valid First Class FAA Medical Certificate.

Travel Requirements (if applicable): Extensive travel is required while assigned to the aircraft. The aircraft will be KVNY based however it is not expected for the aircraft to return to base on any given flight day.
