ResponsibilitiesThe PBX Operator creates an exceptional first impression of Mercy Medical Center in all interactions. Answers calls directed to the Mercy Operator from internal and external callers, within 3 rings as described in the customer service protocol. Transfer callers to correct destination. Take and relay messages for physicians appropriately, including digital and/or alpha paging. Monitors alarms, process life safety codes and other emergency plans. Provides overhead paging services. Assists with the provisioning and replacement of pagers. Demonstrate the ability to effectively use department hardware and software. RequirementsMust possess a high school diploma or GEDPrefer two years of switchboard experience.Must possess computer/PC skills; general word processing and keyboard skills, including PC mouse, are required.
