Our global food manufacturing client is seeking a dedicated Payroll Support Coordinator to join their team for a 6 month + contract opportunity. The Payroll Support role is responsible for assisting with the accurate and timely processing of payroll activities in accordance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements. This position supports plant operations by ensuring payroll accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining complete and organized payroll records to support audits and reporting needs.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll on a regular schedule, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established deadlines 
  • Review, research, and resolve payroll discrepancies by partnering with internal stakeholders to address variances in a timely manner 
  • Perform weekly payroll reconciliations to ensure alignment between payroll systems, timekeeping records, and general ledger accounts 
  • Conduct payroll record retention reviews to ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained in compliance with company policies and legal requirements 
  • Provide ongoing payroll support to plant operations by responding to inquiries and assisting with payroll-related needs 
  • Perform additional payroll and administrative duties as assigned to support business operations 



Required Skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify, research, and resolve payroll discrepancies accurately 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage record retention and maintain accurate documentation 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications 
  • Effective communication skills to support plant operations and respond to payroll-related inquiries 
 
Preferred Skills
  • Prior payroll experience in a food or manufacturing preferred but not required 
 
Required Experience
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience 
  • Prior experience with weekly payroll reconciliation and timekeeping systems preferred 
 
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant payroll experience may be considered
