Position Summary
Responsible for the accurate processing of weekly payroll, time records, end-of-period union and tax filings, and assisting the Director of Payroll with various payroll duties.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Process union payroll reports and remittances
- Create and maintain personnel files
- Perform new hire setup and employee maintenance
- Complete requests for unemployment and employment verifications
- Complete local, state, and federal tax reports and remittances
- Interface with field and shop workers
- Complete and submit weekly certified payroll reports
- Provide payroll-related customer service to field and management employees
- Provide administrative support to the payroll department
- Assist the Director of Payroll with various audits
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associates degree in accounting or related field, or a combination of education and experience
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Effective time management and organization skills
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both internal and external
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
