Payroll Specialist

Auria is looking to hire a Payroll Specialist in Colorado Springs, CO. Auria is a provider of solutions and software in support of complex Space, National Security, and Cyber missions of federal, international, and commercial customers. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

Process semi-monthly payroll for employees

Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions

Maintain and update employee payroll records

Verify timesheets and resolve discrepancies

Ensure compliance with labor laws and tax regulations

Manage benefits deductions (health insurance, retirement plans, etc.)

Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and deductions

Reconcile payroll accounts and generate reports for accounting

Assist with audits and year-end processes

WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associates or Bachelors preferred in accounting, finance, or related field)

3+ years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role

Knowledge of payroll software (e.g., Humanic, ADP, Paychex, or similar systems)

Understanding of tax regulations and labor laws

Strong numerical and analytical skills

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:

Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)

Experience with HRIS systems

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Ability to handle confidential information with integrity

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidates qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $65,000 - $80,000
