Description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Payroll Manager in Falls Church, VA. Summary: The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll operations to ensure the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations while maintaining payroll systems, managing payroll staff, and collaborating with Human Resources, Finance, and other departments to support organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full payroll cycle for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Supervise payroll staff and provide coaching, training, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements
  • Review and approve payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, deductions, garnishments, and benefit elections
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll-related journal entries for the general ledger
  • Oversee payroll tax filings, year-end reporting, and the preparation of W-2s and other required documents
  • Maintain and optimize payroll systems, processes, and internal controls
  • Coordinate payroll audits and provide supporting documentation as requested
  • Analyze payroll data and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee records, compensation changes, and benefits administration
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements when applicable
  • Research and resolve complex payroll issues and employee inquiries
  • Support payroll system implementations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives
  • Develop and document payroll procedures and best practices

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of payroll experience with 2+ years in a recent manager level position
  • Must have higher volume experience in their most recent position
  • Multi-state payroll processing, payroll administration, and payroll tax experience required
  • Excel experience
  • Workday experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
