Payroll & Benefits Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Human Resource Manager

BUILDING ASSIGNMENT: District Office

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll, budget, and personnel information.
  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payrolls, including timesheets for hourly employees
  • Process payroll variances including insurance deductions, HSAs, FSAs, and retirement contributions.
  • Set up new employees and process employee terminations in Skyward.
  • Update employee records and salary changes within the payroll system.
  • Assist employees with payroll questions and concerns via phone and email.
  • Prepare and submit employment verification requests.
  • Process the District's 403(b) retirement plan and Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS).
  • Process enrollment and changes for life insurance, supplemental life, dependent life insurance, LTD.
  • Administer HSA and FSA enrollment (Medical FS, and Dependent Care FSA.)
  • Assist with annual health, dental, and vision open enrollment.
  • Reconcile and process payroll-related invoices and vouchers including taxes, retirement contributions, insurance premiums, garnishments, and benefit deductions.
  • Prepare payroll records and reports for annual audits and Worker's Compensation audits.
  • Reconcile and submit annual WRS reporting.
  • Complete required insurance census reporting and nondiscrimination testing.
  • Prepare and submit annual W-2 reporting.
  • Serve as back up to other office staff
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
