Ledgent is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to support key payroll, benefits, and HR administration functions. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys balancing compliance, employee support, and process improvement in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
Process multi-state payroll and ensure accuracy of deductions, taxes, and compliance requirements.
Manage payroll tax registrations, quarterly and annual tax filings, and year-end reporting, including W-2s and 1095-Cs.
Oversee timekeeping processes, approvals, overtime monitoring, and issue resolution.
Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, qualifying life events, carrier feeds, invoice reconciliations, and open enrollment.
Maintain and support HRIS systems, user access, workflows, forms, reporting, and troubleshooting.
Administer employee leave programs and ensure compliance with federal and state leave regulations.
Partner with Accounting on payroll reporting, general ledger support, and audits.
Support onboarding and employee orientation, including training on timekeeping and self-service tools.
Maintain personnel records, employee data changes, and I-9 compliance.
Respond to employee HR inquiries and provide timely, customer-focused support.
Assist with HR projects, policy development, and organizational initiatives.
What We're Looking For
2-4 years of HR experience with a strong focus on payroll and benefits administration.
Experience processing multi-state payroll and managing payroll tax compliance.
Experience with UKG Ready preferred; experience with Workday or similar HRIS/payroll systems also considered.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft 365 and HR systems.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
