The Payroll Analyst is responsible for processing time and attendance data with a high level of accuracy while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. The role supports data integrity through review and resolution of payroll discrepancies and provides timely responses to payroll-related inquiries. This position assists with day-to-day operations, audits, and special projects, contributing to efficient payroll processing and continuous improvement of practices. The Payroll Analyst also supports onboarding and offboarding activities while maintaining confidentiality and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll transactions accurately and ensure timely completion of payroll functions.
- Review and reconcile payroll, timekeeping, and attendance data for assigned departments or cost centers.
- Monitor payroll deadlines and investigate and resolve payroll and timekeeping discrepancies.
- Process payroll adjustments, reversals, manual checks, and direct deposit corrections as needed.
- Ensure payroll transactions are properly authorized, documented, and compliant with established policies.
- Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in accordance with record retention requirements.
- Provide training and support to managers and employees on payroll policies, procedures, and timekeeping systems.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner.
- Collaborate with payroll team members to ensure operational consistency and adequate coverage.
- Support payroll audits, reporting, and data integrity initiatives to maintain accurate employee records.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Less than one (1) year of professional work experience in an administrative, operational, or business support role.
- Previous payroll processing experience preferred, ideally in a healthcare or similarly complex environment.
- Experience working with payroll, timekeeping, or attendance systems preferred.
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with PeopleSoft or similar Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
