Job Summary: The Payments Product Owner / Payments Lead is a key role responsible for defining and executing the product strategy for payment processes and services across our D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) platforms. This individual will drive the payments roadmap, prioritize features, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, D2C, Finance, and Compliance to deliver seamless, secure, and scalable payment solutions. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in payment technologies, regulatory compliance, and eCommerce best practices, with a proven ability to deliver high-impact product outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Payments Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the payments product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and Customer Support to align priorities and deliver best-in-class payment solutions.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR) to identify innovation opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Performance Optimization: Track payment KPIs, identify inefficiencies, and implement enhancements to improve conversion, reduce costs, and elevate user experience.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure adherence to payment regulations and security standards, working closely with relevant teams to address vulnerabilities.
  • Product Development: Translate business needs into actionable user stories, maintain a well-groomed backlog, and prioritize features for development teams.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Assist Accounts Receivable and Consumer Services in troubleshooting payment system issues and resolving customer disputes.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years in product management, preferably in payments, fintech, or eCommerce.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Expertise in payment processing (credit/debit cards, ACH, mobile wallets, PayPal, Apple Pay, Affirm, etc.).
    • Familiarity with payment gateways, fraud prevention, billing systems, and eCommerce platforms.
    • Experience with QuickLizard is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to drive decision-making.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset.
