Wills Eye Hospital is hiring a Payment Poster in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, you’ll be responsible for accurately posting insurance and patient payments into the practice management system, reconciling daily deposits, and flagging any discrepancies in payments. This is a Full-Time 40 hours per week opportunity for someone who wants to support the revenue cycle by ensuring timely and accurate recording of revenue and maintaining compliance with payer guidelines and internal billing standards

In this role, you’ll support patients, providers, and clinical teams while helping deliver high-quality ophthalmic care. You’ll manage the end-to-end payment posting, reconciliation, and financial accuracy of patient accounts within the billing system and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Reviews insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and accurately posts payments into the billing system. 

  • Ensures that payments, allowances, adjustments, and write-offs are posted accurately and in a timely manner. 

  • Performs check payment reconciliations and prepares accurate deposit reports, as needed. 

  • Reconciles Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs) and Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs). 

  • Investigates and identifies root causes of credit balances and payment variances. 

  • Determines co-pay and deductible liabilities, transferring balances appropriately to secondary payers or responsible parties. 

  • Ensures systems used in payment posting operate efficiently and without disruption. 

What You Bring 

You may be a strong fit for this role if you are detail-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable in a clinical setting. You enjoy working as part of a team, communicating clearly, and supporting both patients and providers. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

  • 2+ years’ experience as a payment poster. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). 

  • Strong understanding of insurance contracts and reimbursement methods (Commercial, Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, No-Fault, Workers’ Compensation). 

  • Knowledge of Insurance Websites. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Must thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment. 

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision. 

  • Demonstrates strong teamwork skills and helps maintain a professional, collaborative work environment. 

  • Ability to learn quickly and accurately and toggle to and from different host and billing systems. 

  • Understands not only the payment posting work flow but also the revenue cycle as a whole and the impact the individual has in the organization.
