Sparta Networking is supporting a leading construction company in hiring an experienced Paver Operator to support asphalt paving operations in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role focused on operating paving equipment efficiently while maintaining proper material flow, alignment, and overall jobsite productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt pavers to place hot mix asphalt according to project specifications
- Control paving speed, depth, and alignment to ensure a consistent, high-quality mat
- Work closely with the screed operator and crew to maintain proper material flow
- Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as needed
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Communicate effectively with crew members to keep projects on schedule
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA and safety standards
Qualifications
- Experience operating asphalt pavers in roadwork or heavy civil construction
- Strong understanding of paving operations and equipment controls
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience working alongside screed and roller operators preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Work Environment
- Physically demanding role, including climbing, lifting up to 60 lbs, and extended periods of equipment operation
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, heat, noise, and asphalt materials
- Use of PPE required at all times
