The Pavement Maintenance Foreman is a senior field leadership role responsible for overseeing daily pavement maintenance operations, including striping, crack sealing, and asphalt overlay work. This position leads crews, ensures quality workmanship, enforces safety standards, and supports timely completion of projects across multiple job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily field operations for pavement maintenance projects
Lead, mentor, and coordinate foremen and field crews
Plan and schedule work activities for striping, crack seal, and overlay operations
Ensure compliance with safety standards, specifications, and quality requirements
Inspect completed work for accuracy, productivity, and workmanship
Coordinate with inspectors, engineers, and internal leadership as required
Monitor labor and material usage and report field progress
Leadership Expectations
Demonstrated ability to lead crews and maintain jobsite discipline
Strong communication and decision-making skills
Ability to solve problems quickly in fast-paced field environments
Sets the standard for safety, productivity, and professionalism
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in pavement maintenance, asphalt, striping, or related construction work
Prior foreman or crew leadership experience required
Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and work orders
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
Work Environment
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Exposure to asphalt, concrete, heavy equipment, dust, noise, and traffic. Physically demanding field environment.
Compensation Overview
Target base salary: $65,000 – $75,000 – or more DOE
Company truck provided
Bonus potential based on performance and production
