Major/Essential Functions

  • Complete insurance verifications using the pre-visit Enterprise Task Management (ETM) system.
  • Enters relevant patient data into the EHR( Electronic Health Record) system.
  • Assist with opening and distributing mail.
  • Assist with handling incoming checks and credit cards in preparation for deposits.
  • Scan payments and deposit batches into the secured, identified School of Nursing(SON) server for the Combest.
  • Receive and process medical record requests.
  • Assist the supervisor in reconciling monthly batch reports.

Schedule Details

Staggered SCH Mon - Thur 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Fri 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. & rotation to cover for evening and weekend staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, both verbally and non-verbally(writing).
  • Prior work with practice management systems and electronic health record systems.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA practices and release of information.
  • Experience in verifying insurance such as Medicare, Medicaid, and all third-party carrier coverage.
  • Multi-phone/call center experience.

Pay Statement

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.

Occasional Duties

Employees may serve as backup coverage for front office staff. Duties associated with this coverage include:
  • Serving as the initial point of contact for patients.
  • Handle all incoming calls, scheduling appointments, patient registration, collecting fees and payments, and reconciliation of monies in the cash drawer.
  • Make reminder calls for patient appointments.
  • Assist patients in completing forms.
  • Assist the supervisor in generating data for reporting purposes.
  • Cover evening & weekend.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions.
