The SBHC Patient Services Representative II primarily is responsible for patient intake, registration and collection of co-payments and deductibles. The SBHC PSR II assists all patients, vendors, parents, visitors and clinic personnel at their respective location. The SBHC PSR II may perform administrative and clerical task.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Greet patients, verify demographic information, and secure insurance authorization for services.
- Schedule appointments and follow-up visits, ensuring accurate patient calendars and maximizing clinic efficiency.
- Collect deductibles, co-payments, and deposits and advise patients on billing or insurance guidelines.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and distribute them to clinical staff.
- Addresses patient's inquiries, communicate waiting times and resolve issues to ensure high patient satisfaction.
- Assist all patients' referrals, transportation, insurance verification, etc.
- Ensures all confidential personal health information and financial information is entered into computerized system with a high rate of accuracy.
- Employment would be a full-time (40) hours per week/ non-exempt position during the SBHC calendar school year as established and approved by the governing school board.
- SBHC employees are only paid for hours worked during the time SBHC are open. SBHC employees are not paid during the summer when SBHC/schools are closed.
- Work schedules are generally Monday thru Friday, based on clinical operations and during the approved SBHC calendar year (August - May). Work schedules are not a contract of employment and may change at the needs of the DRCHC.
- Complies with all federal and local laws in ensuring patient privacy and DRCHC policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as described
Education/Experience Requirements: (The minimum qualifications can be with any combination of education and/or experience.)
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one years of patient/customer service experience.
- At least one years of healthcare experience.
- Proficiency in EMR software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance protocols.
Licensure/Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
