Overview:
Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, Virginia, is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to join our Radiology Department in a Part-Time, Day Shift role. This position includes rotating weekend coverage and offers the opportunity to support patient care through exceptional coordination and customer service in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Overview
A Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for developing care plans, coordinating patient care services, and ensuring patients receive the necessary medical treatment. They consult with healthcare providers, evaluate patient progress, and assist with securing funding for medical care.
Coordinates activities for specific practices, including insurance verification/obtaining pre-certification, scheduling, pre-registration and order transmission. Purpose is to ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce denials related to incomplete insurance information and/or authorization. Maintains statistics and acts as liaison between clinical testing sites and offices.

Experience
Previous healthcare experience (Required)
Two of the following skill levels are strongly preferred: 1. Two years experience in a healthcare environment; 2. Completion of a healthcare related certificate program; 3. Associate's Degree or higher; 4. Transferable skills such as 1 year or more in a call center, customer service position, etc (Preferred)
