Job Title: Patient Service Technician / Phlebotomist (Travel)
Location: Orleans, MA 02653
Pay Rate: From $1,400 per week
Shift: Day Shift
Role Summary
We are seeking a Patient Service Technician / Phlebotomist for a travel-based role focused on blood collection, specimen handling, patient interaction, and data entry. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care while ensuring accuracy and compliance in all laboratory-related processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy procedures including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks
- Collect and handle specimens such as blood samples and throat swabs
- Provide instructions to patients for home sample collection
- Process specimens (centrifugation, preparation, and labeling) per established guidelines
- Accurately enter patient demographics and lab orders into Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
- Deliver professional and courteous service to patients, healthcare staff, and physicians
- Travel to multiple sites including patient homes, nursing facilities, and laboratory locations
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and safety standards
- Manage inventory and maintain adequate supply levels
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Hands-on experience in phlebotomy, including venipuncture
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer and data entry proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Phlebotomy certification
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
- Experience working across multiple locations
Disqualifiers
- No phlebotomy or blood draw experience
- No patient interaction experience
- No valid driver’s license
