Job Summary and Qualifications

The Coordinator is responsible for the overall patient experience program at Menorah Medical Center.  Responsible for ensuring all patient concerns/complaints/grievances receive immediate communication and/or attention and follow-up is handled appropriately for maximum patient satisfaction while acting as an advocate for the patients.  

This position will also oversee the Volunteer Program at the hospital. 

What you will do in the role: 

  • Acts as liaison with internal departments and external accrediting bodies, health and safety agencies, insurance companies, and legal counsel; 
  • Help develop and monitor the implementation of the patient safety-risk management program. Takes part in key hospital committees and teams as appropriate or requested for the purpose of advancing a culture of safety and the prevention of medical errors; 
  • Responsible for responding to and follow up with the patient for all grievances, keeping in compliance with TJC and CMS standards; 
  • Serves as a consultant and resource person to Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Coordinators, Department Directors and other colleagues in both clinical and ancillary areas of the hospital in the development of patient safety indicators, criteria, and process improvement; 
  • Utilize leadership and team-building skills to participate in the work of patient safety and assist Patient Safety Director with change management; 
  • Assists with the management of the hospital event reporting system; 
  • This position will also oversee the Volunteer Program at the hospital. 

What Qualifications You will need: 

  • B.A. or B.S. required;  
  • Clinical background preferred; 
  • Preferred current CPHRM or CPPS certification.  If not already CPPS, must obtain certification within 12 months of hire. Maintain CPPS while in role. 
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience in a healthcare setting required.  Healthcare patient safety, risk management, or quality improvement preferred. 
  • Program management experience 
  • Conflict resolution pertaining to grievances/complaints 
  • Demonstrates good judgment under pressure and a practical decision-making process to solve problems and set appropriate priorities.
