Offers in-person and at-home volunteer opportunities to support hospice patients and their loved ones.
- Visit patients at their homes or in nursing facilities in Illinois locations such as Chicago, Elgin, Gurnee, and surrounding areas. Provide friendly visits, pet therapy with certified pets, or massage therapy. Volunteer near your home and set your own schedule.
- Make weekly check-in calls from home to hospice patients’ caregivers on Wednesdays or Thursdays to offer support and see if they need anything.
- Share special skills like playing music or reading stories with hospice patients or nursing home residents, volunteering close to your location.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings 2 to 4 times a month at local offices to represent volunteers, usually on Wednesdays or Thursdays from 9am-11am.
