Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Patient Care Technician you will be a crucial member of our collaborative nursing care team delivering hands-on care and helping create a safe welcoming environment for patients. Your support brings comfort dignity and connection to those who need it most - and helps make our mission to improve lives a reality for patients every day.

Your responsibilities will include

Assisting with patient preparation mobility transfers and comfort to support smooth procedures and recovery

Providing non-medicated care like dressing changes skin protection and use of supportive devices

Keeping patient areas operating rooms and common spaces clean organized and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency

Managing supplies equipment and environmental logs to keep the team ready and protect patients through infection control

Communicating kindly with patients families and the care team while promoting safety and quality efforts

With no hospital-based experience must be able to attend the PCT Essentials Orientation M-F 8a - 5pm first 2 weeks of employment beginning MARCH 2026.

Hours Full-time

Nights 3 12-hr shifts 7p - 7a plus rotating weekends after completing the orientation

What Qualifications You Will Need

A minimum of a High school diploma or GED required. 1 years of experience in an acute care setting Preferred.

Kansas Certified Nursing Assistant License required or completion of the HCA Patient Care Tech Essentials training.

BCLS certification required upon hire.

With no hospital-based experience must be able to attend the PCT Essentials training M-F 8a - 5pm first 2 weeks of employment beginning MARCH 2026.

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340 bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson Countys only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Womens & Childrens healthcare services. We offer the regions only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit a labor and delivery unit and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee. Each year our colleagues treat over 45000 patients.
