A busy acute-care facility is seeking a compassionate and dependable Patient Care Technician to join its nursing support team. This role is responsible for providing hands-on patient support, assisting clinical staff, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming care environment.

The ideal candidate is patient-focused, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital or clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with preparation, mobility, transfers, positioning, and comfort during care and recovery
  • Provide basic, non-medicated patient care, including hygiene support, dressing assistance, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
  • Monitor patients and promptly report changes in condition, behavior, or comfort level to nursing staff
  • Support nurses and clinical team members with routine patient care tasks
  • Keep patient rooms, hallways, and common areas clean, organized, and well-stocked
  • Manage supplies, equipment, and environmental logs to support infection control and safety standards
  • Follow facility procedures related to patient privacy, safety, documentation, and infection prevention
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, nurses, and other healthcare team members
  • Help create a positive, professional, and compassionate patient care experience

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Active HIPAA compliance credential/ training required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, BCLS/BLS, required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, dependable, and patient-centered approach
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced acute-care or hospital environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
  • Commitment to patient privacy, safety, and quality care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, CNA, Patient Care Assistant, or similar direct patient care role
  • Experience working in a hospital, acute-care, rehabilitation, long-term care, or clinical setting
  • Familiarity with patient mobility support, transfers, basic care tasks, and infection control procedures
