Summary
Under the direction of the department management, this position will provide continuous observation and monitoring of patients. This position safely performs a variety of patient care tasks consisting of responsibilities of patient care sitter, monitor tech, avasure tech and unit clerk. Population served by this position is all age groups. Assignment and responsibilities may vary depending on schedule and patient care needs.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent. One (1) year relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of education requirement.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Completion of a hospital specific training regarding sitter and patient care duties.
- Must successfully complete the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within six (6) months of hire or position entry.
- Completion of Basic Dysrythmia course upon hire.
Preferred:
- Current CNA certification with Nevada State Board of Nursing
- Previous experience working as a cardiac monitor tech, telesitter tech, unit clerk or patient care sitter
