Patient Care Technician-3W Orthopedics and Med/Surg-West

Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN. Overview:

Shift: 11p-730a with every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays, 16 hours/week

 

3 West Ortho has been recognized as Blue Distinction for the care we give to our total hip and knee replacement patients. We are a 34-bed unit that specializes in the orthopaedic population. We also have a wide variety of the medical/surgical adult population. We are a smaller hospital with a family atmosphere. Come be a part of our outstanding team we have here on 3 West!

Responsibilities:

• PCTs will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
• Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.
• Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.
• Team members under the age of 18 may not independently operate mechanical lift equipment.

Qualifications:

License(s)/Certification(s):

• CNA certification preferred
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.

Other: 

• Must be 16 years old or older
• Level 3 Medium Work:  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
