Overview:

Under the supervision and/or direction of a Registered Nurse, performs various duties assisting nurses in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with established nursing standards. These duties may include assisting nurses, unit secretary/monitor technician, phlebotomy.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct care to patients in accordance with their individualized care plans
  • Assists patient with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Assist in transportation and transfer of patients, ensuring comfort and safety during movement
  • Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to nursing team
  • Accuchecks completed as directed
  • Accurate and prompt documentation
  • Assist with patient hygiene and comfort measures, including turning and repositioning patients to prevent pressure ulcers
  • Support patients with feeding and hydration needs, adhering to dietary restrictions and assisting with mealtime activities. Removing trays in timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes
  • Completes hourly rounds to assigned patients and anticipates patient needs. Responding promptly to call lights and patient requests
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions
  • Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, including changing bed linens, stocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness of patient rooms, and preparing rooms for admissions and transfers.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care and hospital procedures
Qualifications:
  • One year experience preferred as a unit administrative, Nursing Assistant, or Phlebotomist.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Credentials:
  • BLS – Basic Life Saving Certification
Education:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
Entry: USD $17.25/Hr. Max: USD $26.74/Hr.
