Works in cooperation with nursing staff and under the direction of the providers in providing timely, efficient, and effective acute care of patients utilizing a team model. Performs care including assessments, treatments and medication administration to patients utilizing skills based on the National Scope of Practice for Paramedics (VT EMS Protocols).
Minimum Education: HS Diploma or equivalent. Completion of accredited paramedic education program.
Minimum Work Experience: 3 years as a pre-hospital care provider required, experience as a Critical Care Paramedic preferred. Experience with immobilization and stabilization procedures a plus.
Required Licenses/Certifications: NREMT registration. Current Vermont State EMS certification and/or LPN licensure. BLS Certification through American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Basic airway skills. Immobilization skills. IV therapy skills. Oxygen and ventilation administration skills. Bleeding control and shock management skills. Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately. Ability to move or lift patients and equipment. Demonstrated proficiency in providing critical care, knowledge, and skills. Demonated moderate knowledge of Medical Terminology. Demonated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
Pay Range: $24.16 - $35.19 COMPETITIVE DIFFERENTIALS: $4.25 - Evenings $8.00 - Nights $4.75 - Weekends
