Overview:

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and patient-focused Patient Care Coordinator to join our dental team in San Diego, CA. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in creating a positive patient experience while supporting the clinical team through appointment scheduling, insurance verification, treatment coordination, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer service-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced dental environment. Patient Care Coordinators commonly manage scheduling, patient communications, insurance verification, billing inquiries, and treatment coordination to help ensure a seamless patient experience.

Schedule (days/hours): Monday-Friday Responsibilities:
  • Welcome patients and provide an exceptional customer service experience from check-in through check-out.
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments while maximizing provider schedules.
  • Verify dental insurance eligibility, benefits, and obtain necessary authorizations.
  • Explain treatment plans, estimated patient financial responsibility, and available payment options.
  • Collect co-pays, balances, and process payments accurately.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic and insurance information.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Coordinate referrals and communicate effectively with specialty offices when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, assistants, and office leadership to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Assist with appointment reminders, patient follow-up calls, and reactivation efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies regarding patient confidentiality and workplace safety.
  • Support office administrative duties and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service or front office experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and dental practice management software.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while handling confidential patient information.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation: $20$22/hour About:
