Patient Care Coordinator – Carmel, NY

Our client is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to support daily front‑office operations and ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for every patient who walks through our doors of their medical offices in Carmel, NY. This role is full‑time, onsite, Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

About the Role

The Patient Care Coordinator plays a key role in patient flow by managing check‑in and check‑out processes, verifying essential information, and supporting patients with scheduling and account needs. This position directly contributes to efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check patients in and out, ensuring a friendly and efficient experience.

  • Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation.

  • Assist patients with MyChart activation and portal navigation.

  • Collect copays and process payments accurately.

  • Schedule follow‑up appointments and coordinate next steps for patient care.

  • Communicate clearly with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow.

  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards.

⭐ Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Background in healthcare administration, medical office operations, or a similar patient‑facing environment.

  • Experience using Epic or another electronic medical record (EMR) system.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient‑first mindset.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare or medical office setting.

  • Familiarity with insurance verification and patient scheduling workflows.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment with accuracy and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional customer service skills and a warm, welcoming demeanor.

  • Comfort assisting patients with digital tools such as MyChart.
