Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our healthcare team in Flower Mound, TX. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in ensuring an exceptional patient experience. The PSR is responsible for managing front-office operations, including patient check-in, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, chart preparation, and payment collection while providing outstanding customer service.
Team Environment
The Patient Service Representative will work in a collaborative clinical setting alongside:
- 2 Patient Service Representatives
- 9 Clinical Staff Members
- 5 Healthcare Providers
The team is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care through professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional front-office experience
- Complete patient check-in and check-out processes accurately and efficiently
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and patient demographic information
- Collect co-pays and other patient payments while maintaining accurate records
- Prepare patient charts and ensure all documentation is complete prior to appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and general inquiries
- Support providers and clinical staff with daily administrative and front-office functions
- Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Experience with appointment scheduling and insurance verification
- Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
Preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
- Experience with EMR systems
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
