Job Title: Patient Care Coordinator

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday / 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Patient Care Coordinator to support front office operations and ensure a positive patient experience. This role is responsible for patient check-in/check-out, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, medical records management, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to delivering quality patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients upon arrival and manage patient wait times efficiently.
  • Complete patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary documentation.
  • Process insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and precertifications for procedures.
  • Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issue receipts accordingly.
  • Assist walk-in patients and visitors with inquiries and support.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, direct calls appropriately, and take messages when needed.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
  • Address patient questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain and manage medical records, including filing, scanning, and preparing records for scheduled appointments.
  • Process medical records release requests and maintain accurate logs.
  • Ensure all incoming correspondence is properly scanned, filed, and documented.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, staff, and the public.
  • Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and the ability to resolve patient concerns efficiently.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in patient registration, medical front desk, or healthcare administration.
  • Experience with insurance verification, referrals, and authorization processes.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
