Patient Care Coordinator (3 x 12-Hour Schedule)

Position Summary
The Patient Care Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for our patients, creating a welcoming and positive experience from check-in to check-out. This role is responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, managing referrals, and ensuring efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors in person and over the phone
- Check patients in and out while maintaining exceptional customer service
- Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and financial information
- Schedule appointments and provide appointment summaries
- Optimize patient satisfaction, provider efficiency, and treatment room utilization
- Maintain communication with the pre-certification team regarding patient orders
- Track and follow up on patient cancellations and no-shows
- Perform daily audits of assigned tasks
- Follow up on outpatient and surgical referrals
- Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR
- Assist with additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Caring, patient-focused attitude
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of office technology and computer systems
- Prior medical front desk or medical receptionist experience preferred
- Orthopedic experience is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or higher preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of medical front desk experience preferred
- Customer service experience required
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
