Patient Advocate at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth:
·The patient advocate has the responsibility acting as a liaison between the patients’ family and the nursing staff for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Outpatient Center. It is his/her responsibility to know where a patient is in the system and to keep the family members informed of the patient’s progress.

Education:
·High School Graduate, or equivalent
Licensure/Certification:
·BLS, required
Required Experience:
·Experience in Public Relations, medical office, patient relations, scheduling a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
·Good organization habits.
·Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery process and management of the flow of the surgical patient.
·Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record for patient documentation.
·Performs effectively in stressful situations to fulfill position responsibilities.
·Able to communicate effectively with patients’ families.
·Able to communicate appropriate information from the doctors and nursing staff.
