Patient Accounts Receivable Representative (EOB/Collections) Compensation

  • $17.00 per hour paid biweekly
  • Benefits available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
  • 401(k) with company match available after 1 year of service (on eligibility dates)

Patient Accounts Receivable Representative (EOB/Collections) Highlights

  • Contract assignment (W2); potential to hire permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Remote-capable (must have reliable, functioning internet)
  • Important: Candidate must be able to read an Explanation of Benefits (EOB)

Patient Accounts Receivable Representative (EOB/Collections) Responsibilities

  • Review open patient account balances for accuracy
  • Place outbound calls to collect payments and/or set up payment plans
  • Investigate patient billing inquiries and communicate findings clearly
  • Support/answer inbound patient calls as needed
  • Document actions taken and billing status thoroughly in patient accounts
  • Understand and follow Medicare guidelines and payer requirements
  • Identify trends/issues and communicate potential resolutions to leadership
  • Complete internal notes/tasks as assigned
  • Maintain production and quality expectations for the department

Patient Accounts Receivable Representative (EOB/Collections) Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of outbound patient collections experience (medical/healthcare environment)
  • Ability to read and interpret EOBs and understand denial reasoning
  • Strong verbal/written communication and customer service (ability to de-escalate)
  • Comfortable navigating multiple systems while maintaining data accuracy
  • Moderate Excel skills and general PC proficiency
  • Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days

Patient Accounts Receivable Representative (EOB/Collections) Preferred Qualifications

  • Call center / outbound dialer experience
  • Experience with insurance follow-up, denials, and patient billing questions
  • Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
