Patient Account Specialist

The Patient Account Specialist is responsible for reviewing charges for accuracy and appropriate usage of ICD10, CPT, and HCPC codes to maximize reimbursement for EVMS Medical Group.

• Review clinical documentation to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant charge capture prior to submission.
• Research, resolve, and respond to tasks in the professional billing workqueues.
• Assist providers and clinical staff with billing and coding questions and issues.
• Manually post charges in EPIC.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

• Working knowledge of ICD10/CPT coding in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of insurance carrier rules and regulations.
• Requires detail oriented, adaptability, independent thinking, and problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current CPC certification, one year experience in a medical billing and coding environment
