The Patient Account Manager (PAM) helps patients with their financial obligations to ESRH and helps them to understand their bill and to determine if they qualify for a slide or insurance. They proof all claims before they are billed and review all slide applications.

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a medical facility with at least one (1) year in a community health center.
  • Must be able to interpret current and past-due invoices and review them with patients.
  • Individual must be professional, self-motivated and have strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, customer service and computer skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service skills.

Certification as an Interpreter is preferred and ability to provide bilingual patient care is a plus.

  • Contact patients to determine if they have insurance or need outreach assistance, assist with sliding fee application, oversee sliding fee process and make necessary adjustments to patient accounts, set up and monitor payment plans and work bad addresses.
  • Proof assigned providers work daily.
  • Assist in checking the daily deposit and daily proofing as assigned for accuracy. Make DAILY deposits at the bank and keep proper change at the Front Desk.
  • Answer and assist patients with their account as well as questions regarding lab bills. Medical PAM's review and correct Lab Corp bills and handle all add on labs. Dental PAM's maintain pre-treatment estimates and authorizations. All lab bills must be completely submitted to Corporate office within an appropriate time frame as assigned by the Patient Account Coordinator or Finance, Revenue Cycle Manager.
  • Responsible for employee training as directed by the Patient Account Coordinator or Finance, Revenue Cycle Manager.
  • Other duties and tasks as directed by the Patient Accounts Coordinator or Finance, Revenue Cycle Manager.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES ASSIGNED TO DESIGNATED BILINGUAL STAFF

  • If qualified, perform interpretation/translation services for ESRHS centers.
  • If qualified, assist patients with signing up for the Migrant Clinician Network.
