Patient Access Specialist Lead - CU Sports Medicine

$19.29 - $28.24 an hour - Full-Time Days, 40 hours per week

+$2.00/hr for weekend shifts. 



Boulder Community Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist 2 role for CU Sports Medicine who is responsible for efficient, operational leadership for the front office Care Team Assistants, understanding strategic direction, and coordination of clinic. Duties shall include, but are not limited to, physician schedules, clinic patient flow and clinic operations.

Qualifications 

•High school graduate or equivalent preferred

•Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred

•One to three years of supervisory experience, preferably in a medical office setting

•Word processing and computer experience preferred



Responsibilities

•Time management of Care Team Assistants.

•API Care Team Assistant timecard input and supervision.

•Assists Manager with Service Excellence Evaluations.

•Assists in monitoring ongoing Performance metrics for staff competencies.

•Assists and conducts Care Team Assistant interviews.

•Balances and deposits office receivables.

•Ensures adequate inventory.

•Facilitates Care Team Assistant staff meetings.

•Creates and reviews employee work schedules and ensures all clinic hours are covered.

•Greets patients upon arrival and notifies appropriate clinical staff of patient arrival, answers and screens calls, directs calls by taking messages and/or finding appropriate staff to handle the client.

•Communicates effectively with public, peers, patients, physicians, clinicians, etc.

•Provides patient information when appropriate and knows when it is not appropriate.

•Schedules appointments for practitioners and physical therapy staff according to established clinic guidelines.

•Collects co-pay and visit payments.

•Handles cancellations according to established clinic guidelines.

•Assists with implementation of physician’s orders (i.e., schedules X-rays or lab tests).

•Maintains appropriate patient documentation and verifies chart information on regular basis.

•Maintains open lines of communication with participating physician offices.
