Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient registration, authorization, and financial clearance for complex and specialty services
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain required authorizations from payers
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and outstanding balances in accordance with department guidelines
  • Explain insurance benefits, financial responsibility, and required documentation to patients and guarantors
  • Accurately gather and enter patient demographic and financial information
  • Build strong working relationships with physicians, clinical teams, and payers to prevent denials and delays
  • Identify and resolve customer service issues while supporting service recovery efforts
  • Monitor, document, and report issues and trends impacting patient access or financial outcomes
  • Screen patients for federal, state, or local assistance programs and complete required applications
  • Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate tests and procedures while maintaining communication with all stakeholders
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, hospital, and Baptist Health policies and procedures
Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s degree preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in customer service, financial services, business, or healthcare required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive patient information
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-volume environment
